Hebrews 11:8-10 KJVS By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. [9] By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: [10] For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
God establishes a covenant with Abraham with two elements:
A Promised people
A Promised land

The plan of God
is mysterious in nature and progressive in manifestation

The path of God
is marked by times of personal fears, detours and missteps.

The purpose of God
is our maturation of our faith through testing.

The product of our walk
is trust, obedience and hope.

Engaging the unknown
1. Faith begins by stepping into the unknown.
Stepping without details on the destination.
Surrendering our need for control

2. Faith perseveres through trials and imperfections.
Faith guarantees challenges and delays.
Faith is rooted in eternal promises, not earthly rewards.
Faith is the imperfect trusting perfectly

3. Faith surrenders the most precious possessions
Faith demands obedience above life
Faith discovers the provision of God
Faith declares the purpose of God greater than my provision
