Prepared for Purpose
By Bishop Dr. Eric Peters

Isaiah 43:18-19 KJVS Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. [19] Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

The biblical record that seems to indicate a significant point in the life of an individual cannot be substantiated as a whole of culture requirement but it is connected to the lives of significant individuals in biblical history.
Some persons were not required to wait to thirty before they can get into significant service because the ordinary does not need special preparation but those selected by God for His particular and clearly defined role to impact generations and shift culture are required to.

Let’s look at some biblical characters who had to wait to 30 years and their impact.
In all of them the process of preparation shares similar characteristics.
Dream - It is the divine download that prophetically displays your future.
Testing - It is the divine development through challenges.
Character - It is the personal fortification of the person against attacks aimed at negatively affecting their influence.
Wisdom - it is the accurate application of developed spiritual understanding.
Authority - it is the proper exercise of spiritual ability to command and control your environment.

Joseph: Gen 41:46 (Prepared for Purpose)
Preparation for Governance & Provision
Preparation for governmental leadership in a foreign nation that would prosper the nation and save his people.
The nation he prospered imprisoned him.
The people he saved sold him.
The coat that caused envy was replaced by an anointing for dreams.
He first learned to speak the heart of God in the place of accusation before he can speak it in the place of authority.
Lesson: The dream was not the beginning of service but the beginning of preparation.

David: 2 Sam 5:4 (Prepared for Purpose)
Preparation for kingship and dominance
The king he served hated him and sought to destroy him.
The family he was raised in abandoned him.
The harp that made him valuable was replaced by an anointing to conquer nations.
He first learned to fight and conquer in private before he could in public.
Lesson: The anointing was not the coronation but it was the prophetic selection.

The Levites. Number 4:3 (Prepared for Purpose)
Preparation for ministry
The Levite must accept the divine assignment by birthright.
There must be a willingness to serve and commit to be holy before God.
At this age holiness isn’t an option but it is the only means of survival and ministerial success.
Lesson: The responsibility to handle the sacred requires spiritual maturity.

Jesus: Luke 3:23 (Prepared for Purpose)
Public proclamation of approval.
He was divinely inspired to fulfill His purpose.
He experienced significant spiritual and social satisfaction.
He had to remove himself from his human support structure and now trust completely in the promise of His assignment.
Lesson: Public presentation follows private preparation.

Approval of the divine confers spiritual authority and influence.
Application
At thirty, one does not focus on what developed them but on the purpose for which they were developed.
At thirty, one prioritizes relationships based on purpose instead of family.

At thirty, one operates in full personal understanding of identity.
At thirty, one does not depend on the applause of men but the approval of God.

At thirty, one is more interested in impacting others and not personal satisfaction.
