PITBA Father's Day - No Ordinary Father

The enemy’s strategy in the physical realm mirrors that in the spiritual.

When men are busy in the battle the home is left vulnerable and exposed that the enemy can come in and attack them.

It is intended that as men we be actively engaged in war.

1. The Father who Recovers.

1 Samuel 30:18-19 KJV “And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. [19] And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.”

We must develop the fortitude to rescue our family.

Demonstration of:

  • Courage

  • Love

  • Relationship

2. The Father who Represents.

Job 1:5 KJV “And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.”

We must develop the discipline and responsibility of taking our children’s names and issues to God.

Demonstrated:

  • Proactive leadership

  • Priestly responsibility

  • Personal relationship

3. The Father who Requests.

We must develop the strength to take our children to God.

Luke 8:41-56

Demonstrated:

  • Humble desperation

  • Resistance to distraction

  • Power over discouragement

4. The Father who Releases.

1 Corinthians 4:15-17 KJV “For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. [16] Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. [17] For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.”

We must develop the spiritual maturity to produce spiritual children.

“A spiritual father stands as a guidepost – marking a clear path of God’s truth amidst confusing teaching.” Unknown

  • Anointing to produce

  • Ability to pattern

  • Authority to correct

The Power of Pentecost
Acts 1:8 NKJV "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

When we discuss the power of Pentecost the traditional view is to limit ourselves to the occurrences of the day itself. This is not to diminish the manifestations of that day as it birthed the greatest movement in the history of human kind but there’s more power to Pentecost than a day.

If Pentecost were to be limited to the day on which it occurred we would be sorely devaluing and minimizing its power and the possibilities it produced for the church.

The range of the effects of Pentecost begins with our personal experience creating transformation and extends to our impact creating a transformed society.

As we examine the Power of Pentecost we explore the vast account of how it impacted the lives of those it affected.

It will be helpful to understand the meanings and interpretations of power before we delve into its implications.

1. Dunamis

Inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth moral power and excellence of soul.

This power does first in me before it does through me.

2. Exousia

The power of authority (influence) and of right (privilege) the power of rule or government (the power of Him whose will and commands must be submitted to by others and obeyed)

This power is about my identity and not my ability.

In order to fulfill the mandate as handed down by Christ we need not depend on any other power than the Holy Spirit.

Contrary to charismatic practices the encounter with Holy Spirit is best proven by our transformation and not merely our expressions.

The Power to Witness

Without the power to witness we will lack the ability to both produce and to present the evidence required.

Acts 1:8 KJVS “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

The conduct and success of the fundamental task that is assigned will be the proof of Holy Spirit in my life.

Three realms and results:

1. Prayer - Power

2. The Word - Revelation

3. Obedience - Success

The Power to Worship

Without the Power to Worship we will not be able with use of our faculties and abilities to enter into spiritual fellowship and adoration of God.

Philippians 3:3 KJVS For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Worship in the spirit maintains our dependency on the spirit and kills reliance on flesh.

The Power of Wisdom

Without the power of wisdom we lack the ability to exercise divine judgment in the affairs of life and ministry.

Isaiah 11:2 KJVS And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

The guide to accurate exercise of judgement and discernment is Holy Spirit.

The Power of The Word

Without the Power of the word we lack the ability to impact the hearts of men by the spirit to bring them to repentance.

1 Thessalonians 1:5 KJVS For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

The Holy Spirit accompanies the Word with confirmations through manifestations and consistency with our profession and reputation.

The Power to Walk

Without the Power to walk our temptations, tendencies and desires would determine every decision and action in our lives resulting in their accompanying consequences.

Galatians 5:16-17 KJVS This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. [17] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

This encouragement highlights the requirement of consistency in order to achieve the intended victory.

The Power to War

The Spirit accesses the realm where every battle is fought and ably represents us, delivering victory.

Ephesians 6:10-20 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Victory in the battles of life are not gained by focusing on physical manifestation but by fighting spiritual motivations.

The Power to Work

Our partnership with Holy Spirit is imperative to the effective conduct of the assignment.

John 14:26 NKJV But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Key to the assignment is our obedience to everything Jesus commanded.

2025-06-01 Four cups One Saviour Exodus 6_6-7 - COVER
2025-06-01 Four cups One Saviour Exodus 6_6-7 - COVER
Exodus 6:6-8 NKJV Therefore say to the children of Israel: 'I am the LORD; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. [7] I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. [8] And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the LORD.'"

The Passover was the act and celebration of God’s deliverance of His people from the bondage of Egypt. They were commanded to celebrate it as a reminder through generations of that specific act. They were to retell the account of their deliverance every year.

  1. The Cup of Salvation (Kiddush) before the meal.

This cup represents God’s deliverance from the burdens of the Egyptians.

Exodus 1:11 NKJV Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Raamses.

Woman with the issue of blood.

Luke 8:43-48

  1. The Cup of Deliverance (Maggid) reading the account of deliverance.

This cup represents freedom from the bondage of the Egyptians.

Exodus 1:14 NKJV And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage-in mortar, in brick, and in all manner of service in the field. All their service in which they made them serve was with rigor.

Demoniac of the Gadarenes.

Mark 5:1-17

  1. The Cup of Redemption (Birkat Hamazon) Completing the meal.

This cup represents the transaction that seals our Salvation.

Exodus 12:3-7 NKJV Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: 'On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. [4] And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man's need you shall make your count for the lamb. [5] Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. [6] Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. [7] And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.

Woman with the Alabaster Box.

Luke 7:36-47

  1. The Cup of Restoration. (Hallel)

This Cup represents the completion of the redemptive process resulting in praise.

Exodus 15:1-4 NKJV Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying: "I will sing to the LORD, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea! [2] The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father's God, and I will exalt Him. [3] The LORD is a man of war; The LORD is His name. [4] Pharaoh's chariots and his army He has cast into the sea; His chosen captains also are drowned in the Red Sea.

Prodigal son.

Luke 15:11-32

  1. The Cup of The Lord

This Cup represents an accumulation of every cup poured out into one Life who expanded the effect of the four cups before and became the cup for all.

Isaiah 53:4-5 KJVS Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

The weight of this was carried on a lamb which had no will of its own and no consciousness of the significance assignment ahead.

He consciously carried it all.

Matthew 26:26-29 NKJV And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." [27] Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. [28] For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. [29] But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom."

  • The Cup that satisfies all the requirements of the law

  • The cup that shows hope for the future

  1. It is a continuous connection to the sacrifice of Christ.

  2. It is a presentation of the receipt for our salvation and deliverance

  3. It is an activation of the power of the sacrifice of Jesus

  4. It’s a reminder that He took us out and has taken us in.

  5. It is a reminder of the goodness of God

This initiates the activation of a new covenant
