Proverbs 20:7 The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him. (KJV)

Ephesians 6:4  (21st Century King James Version) 4 And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

The Highest office on the earth is that of a Father, why because it is the fullest representative of Christ

Father Biblically:

The Scriptures outline several specific characteristics of a godly father:

Spiritual Leader and Teacher:

Fathers are explicitly instructed to train their children in the ways of God. According to Deuteronomy 6:6-7, faith and biblical principles should be an everyday part of family life.

Provider:

Beyond physical necessities, fathers are called to provide emotional and spiritual support for their households. 1 Timothy 5:8 states that anyone who fails to provide for their relatives denies the faith.

Disciplinarian without Harshness:

While fathers are expected to discipline their children to build character, they are cautioned against abusing their authority. Ephesians 6:4 warns fathers not to exasperate their children, but to bring them up with godly instruction.

Reflection of the Heavenly Father:

An earthly father's primary role is to show their children what God is like. Just as God shows compassion to His children, earthly fathers are to model patience, grace, and love.

Biblical Qualities of a Father:

What are the biblical qualities of a father? (Mirror – Jehovah)

Compassion and forgiveness are two overlapping qualities that are critical in being a biblical father.

Psalm 103:13 says, "As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him."

Biblical process to becoming a Father:

Adam – had to go through the process, he was a man, he was a husband/dry, then he received an ezer/help meet, he was trained in Fathering before he had a child and became a father, like his heavenly father. What happen is that we skip the process We want to be have the benefits of Fathering (such sex, without even being a man)

Going through the process produces Godly Love requires maturity, honesty, accountability, vulnerability, transparency, consistency, reliability, communication, conflict resolution skills, compassion, forgiveness, provision, protector and then the ultimate procreator.

Even Jesus went through the process:

Luke 2:52 (New International Version) 52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

Jesus is and was the Father:

Isaiah 9:6 New International Version 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given – and the government will be on his shoulders, And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The importance of Fathers and fathering:

Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

Luke 1:17 And he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the disobedient to the understanding of the righteous, to make ready for the Lord a prepared people.”

1 Timothy 5:8 if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel/unbeliever.

Our Father – An Honorable Father:

The Lord’s Prayer, also known as the Our Father, is the foundational Christian prayer taught by Jesus to his disciples as a model for how to pray. It is found in the New Testament in the Gospels of Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:1-4.

“‘Our Father in heaven, ~ (location)

hallowed be your name ~ (Jesus),

10 your kingdom come ~ (by Jesus and through Jesus)

your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. ~ (obedience)

11 Give us today our daily bread ~ (manna) – Jesus/word).

12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors ~ (owe no one… but love)

13 And lead us not into temptation, ~ (guide us with your Holy Spirit)

but deliver us from the evil one. ~ (deliverance – freedom)

Happy Father’s Day – the King of kings:

To "hallow" God's name means to honor, revere, and treat it as completely holy and unique. You can actively hallow God's name through your daily conduct, worship, and speech:

Live a holy life:

Reflect God's love, justice, and righteousness in your attitudes and actions, as your life acts as a living reflection of His name

Reverent speech:

Avoid using God's name carelessly, profanely, or to twist meaning to fit personal or political ambitions. Users in The Puritan Board agree that all divine titles should be used intentionally and with profound respect.

Prioritize praise:

Start your prayers by magnifying and adoring God's name before bringing personal requests to Him.

Obey His commandments:

Following His will and teachings is considered one of the primary ways to respect His holiness.

Desiring God

Handle scripture and texts with care: Strive to understand and share God's truth accurately without deliberate ignorance or misrepresentation. For instance, in Jewish tradition, special reverence is shown by substituting letters in the written name (e.g., using "G-d") to prevent accidental desecration.

Closing

Focus on your Father in Heaven Stay in that moment – focus on who you are addressing, focus on Him, see Him, take your time and focus on your Father, Our Father

  • Time for repentance Time for Holiness

  • Time for Reverence

  • Time for His Prescence – deliver from evil

Thy Kingdom come, the power and the Glory in my heart/in my mind, in my soul/ in my body
